Purpose: The Worship & Prayer Director is responsible to arrange and coordinate worship and prayer opportunities for the congregation at Grace to engage in.
Responsibilities: The following tasks are assigned to the Worship & Prayer Director:
Reach Non-Churched People for Jesus through Worship and Prayer Initiatives
Missional Events: Find places in the community to reach people through music and prayer.
Attractional Events: Create opportunities at church for members to invite non-church people.
Disciple Believers in Jesus to grow in Worship of God and Prayer to God
Worship Services
Work in conjunction with the Senior Pastor in planning the weekly Sunday worship services and other special services (e.g. Christmas Eve; Maundy Thursday; Good Friday).
Ensure that all technical components are working properly each Sunday (i.e. sound system, video & media projection, lighting system, and TV monitors).
Oversee the music and tech teams and participate either as a band leader or musician.
Prayer Ministries
Plan and coordinate the monthly prayer summit that is arranged around certain themes.
Oversee the weekly prayer teams for Sunday worship services and the prayer chain ministry.
Equip and Send Workers to Serve Jesus in the Worship and Prayer Ministries
Assess and recruit band leaders, musicians, and tech personnel (e.g. sound, media, video).
Schedule practices and provide training for music and tech teams.
Perform Other Ministry Tasks
Purchase worship and prayer supplies as needed and prepare an annual budget.
Arrange with the Office Manager to advertise ministry needs, programs, and events.
Connect with the Senior Pastor for planning, recruiting, scheduling, and recommendations.
Preach periodically and serve in other areas as determined by the Senior Pastor.

Requirements: The following are requirements for being the Worship & Prayer Director:
Has made a personal commitment to Jesus as being Saviour and Lord of their life.
Has been baptized by immersion as a sign of this commitment to follow Jesus.
Will implement the purpose, mission, and vision of Grace into the worship & prayer ministries.
Is committed to growing spiritually and in setting a Christlike example.
Is willing to take out membership at Grace Baptist Church.
Is committed to working in a team setting and in supporting the leadership.
Has a post-secondary education in worship, theology, or equivalent training/experience.

Ability to play an instrument(s), sing, lead and coordinate music and tech teams.

Experienced in recruiting, leading music teams, prayer ministries, and media/sound systems.
Work Dynamics: The following are the work dynamics for the Worship & Prayer Director:
30-40 hours per week.
Full-time staff meet daily for prayer and coordination, and weekly for training and prayer.
This position is under the supervision of the Senior Pastor.
Salary is determined by a salary gridline and is adjusted to education and experience.
A minimum of three weeks’ vacation is given each year.
Three personal Sunday’s can be booked off each year, provided there is a suitable replacement.
Other times off are according to the Employee Leave policy.
Full-time employees receive a monthly pension and health benefits.
Ministry expenses (e.g. mileage, hospitality, ministry) are compensated.
