Bow Valley Baptist Church is prayerfully seeking a Senior Pastor who will faithfully lead our

church family in loving, living, and serving like Jesus.


For nearly 40 years, Bow Valley Baptist Church has developed a rich history as a local church in

Cochrane, Alberta, that seeks to glorify God and make disciples in our community. We are

affiliated with the Canadian National Baptist Convention, and have an average attendance of

approximately 350 people of all ages each Sunday. Situated in one of the fastest growing

communities in Canada, we are only 20 minutes west of the City of Calgary, nestled against

sweeping views of the majestic Rocky Mountains.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates Christlike character and integrity in all aspects of life and ministry

  • Guards and handles sound doctrine correctly, equipping believers to discern and stand firm amid challenges to biblical truth

  • Leads the preaching team in faithful, expositional preaching that teaches and applies the whole counsel of God’s Word

  • Shepherds the congregation with servant leadership, compassion and sincerity

  • Helps guide members of the body to a closer and deeper relationship with God

  • Seeks the Lord prayerfully for direction, exercising sound judgment, wisdom, and discernment

  • Provides administrative oversight to the pastoral team and support staff

  • Develops leaders who train and equip others in the church to serve effectively

  • Mobilizes the church to reach the lost with the gospel

  • Partners with other like-minded churches and ministries to serve and engage the community and demonstrate the love of Christ in practical ways


Qualifications

We are seeking a pastor who meets the biblical qualifications found in 1 Timothy 3:1–7 , Titus

1:5–9 , and 1 Peter 5:1–4. Other qualifications include the following:

  • Must be in full agreement with Bow Valley Baptist Church’s Statement of Faith

  • Affiliation, or willingness to affiliate, with the Canadian National Baptist Convention

  • Minimum 5 years experience leading a church as Senior / Lead Pastor

  • Seminary training aligned with the Canadian National Baptist Convention or Southern

    Baptist Conventions
