Ministry Opportunity: Lead Pastor (Part Time)

Grand Forks, British Columbia

Grand Forks is located on the US border in the Boundary, an area between the Okanagan and the Kootenay Regions of British Columbia. It is a beautiful valley surrounded by mountains and ponderosa pine forests, with a population of around 4,000. There are two rivers, the Granby and Kettle, that intersect within the valley. Hundreds of locals float the Kettle in the summer. The area has good hunting and fishing as well as many ATV and hiking trails. Grand Forks is the perfect backdrop for families and retirees, with a strong commitment to healthy living, affordability and community.

Grand Forks First Baptist Church is a Christ-centered church with a vision for impacting our community and beyond. We have a balanced demographic, from newborns to the elderly, and everything in between.
Our attendance varies from 70-100 people. We are seeking a part-time pastor to provide pastoral leadership in conjunction with our elders, and we would love a pastor who values community by getting to know people and caring for them.
The pastor will guide the church with vision, direction, and spiritual oversight as we pursue our purpose and mission:
To make known the glory of God throughout the world and in the heavenly places (Ephesians 3:10), by praising Him as God, by proclaiming the Word of God and by building up mature believers into the likeness of the Son of God

Biblical qualifications for an elder as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9
Graduate or equivalent degree from an accredited seminary preferred
Pastoral ministry experience (or experience serving and leading in a church or other setting)
Strong leadership skills with the ability to teach and inspire the congregation to be obedient to the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ
Passionate about discipleship and spiritual growth

Believes that all scripture is authoritative, inerrant, and sufficient

Weekly biblical teaching from the Word of God to nourish and engage the congregation
Oversee, in collaboration with the elders, the various ministries of First Baptist Church, giving leadership to them and the church
Disciple and train up individuals for the work of ministry
Provide spiritual leadership and pastoral care
Be an active shepherd to the congregation, leading and teaching them to love and serve one another, just as our Lord Jesus taught his disciples
