Abuse Prevention and Response

To protect the witness of Christ and the safety of people in CNBC churches, we have compiled resources to help the CNBC family of churches take proactive steps in preventing abuse. In the case abuse occurs, these resources can help provide a proper response that meets both biblical and legal requirements. The information provided below is intended as a resource and should not be viewed as legal advice.

Training Resource

Under the direction of our Executive Team, we have created a tool for churches to use for the purpose of Abuse Prevention and Response. This handbook can be printed out freely and used to provide abuse prevention training at your church with your staff, leaders, and volunteers. We recommend going through this training once a year.

Staff Vetting Tool

This tool is an abuse prevention questionnaire to help you as you look to hire new staff.

Who To Contact

This website will give you the reporting information for each province and territory.

Other Resources

These websites are fee-based services that can help you protect the vulnerable in your church.

This page gives helpful information and the opportunity to speak to a professional response coach to answer your questions. They are trauma-informed and also trained in Canadian law.
