Irvine Flood Response

In mid-June after an extended rainfall, the small hamlet of Irvine, Alberta, was inundated with water from the nearby Ross Creek which overflowed its banks putting parts of the town under 2 meters (6 feet) of water. Although some financial assistance was forthcoming from the government, some people were simply not able to clean up the mess left behind.
Eight members of the CNBC Disaster Relief team travelled to Irvine to assist those without insurance and incapable of the physical labour needed to do the clean up from August 30 - September 3, 2010. A number of homes were identified initially for clean up and some possible reconstruction to get the families back into their residences.
