The motivation behind CNBC Disaster Relief efforts can be summed up in one phrase:  "A cup of cold water in Jesus' name."  CNBC Disaster Relief is following the example Jesus established when He fed the 5,000 (Matthew 14:13-21) and the 4,000 (Matthew 15:29-39) and His teachings in the parable of the Good Samaratan (Luke 10:25-37) and Matthew 25:31-46.

CNBC Disaster Relief is Christian love in action.  It is meeting the urgent needs of hurting humanity in crisis situations with loving care and a timely response.

All our volunteers receive basic training followed by additional hands on training in specific areas.  In 2010, volunteers responded to Haiti Earthquake, New England Flooding, and Irvine, AB Flooding.  In 2011, volunteers responded to the Wildfire in Slave Lake (AB), Flooding in Minot, ND (USA), and Hurricane relief in New England (USA).  Stories about these responses can be found in the Fall 2011 edition of the Baptist Horizon (Pages 5, 12, & 13).  As well in October, we sent a team to Japan to assist with rebuild efforts following 2011's earthquake & tsunami.  Immediate stories are available on the CNBC Disaster Relief Facebook page (below) and will appear in the Baptist Horizon in early 2012.
