CHARLOTTETOWN, PEWhen CCSB church messengers gather for their annual convention, June 30 through July 2, 2008, in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, they will be challenged to go beyond meeting together. They will have opportunities to impact the people of the Maritime Provinces with the gospel.

In similar fashion to the Southern Baptists Convention’s Crossover evangelistic event each year before their annual convention, the CCSB, in conjunction with the East Coast Baptist Association, invites those who attend this year’s convention to come early and be part of outreach events in all three Maritime Provinces. This initiative has been named Impact Maritimes.

Convention activities begin on Monday afternoon, June 30, in Charlottetown. Messengers and visitors coming to convention may want to arrive early and spend time as tourists in one of Canada’s most beautiful regions.

Those who can come early are invited to spend Saturday, June 28, in one of three Maritime cities: Halifax, Nova Scotia; Moncton, New Brunswick; or Charlottetown. CCSB churches in each city will have outreach events specifically designed to present a gospel witness to people in their communities.

Activities will include block parties, servant evangelism, music concerts and other ways to present a gospel message. The day’s activities in each location will begin with a prayerwalk.

Those who participate in Impact Maritimes on Saturday will have all day Sunday and half of Monday to take in the sights of the region before the convention begins.

Community Baptist Church, Charlottetown, has set up a pre-registration form for the convention on their website: www.mychurchfamily.ca. Click on the link: 2008 Canadian Convention of Southern Baptists.
